Vice President, Business Development and Channels
Jon Katz assumed the position of vice president, business development and channel management, in January 2017. In this role, Jon leads the business development, channel and military resale divisions, developing a pipeline of new business and growth in channel sales. He is responsible for providing direction and leadership in identifying, developing, capturing and winning new opportunities, and growing existing commodity sales consistent with NIB associated agencies’ capabilities and capacity. In addition, Mr. Katz will work to educate customers on the AbilityOne® Program and existing opportunities under the suite of NIB solutions, and will serve as the organization’s lead executive addressing targeted strategic accounts in the federal civilian and Department of Defense markets and channels.
Mr. Katz brings extensive experience in both the U.S. military and private industry to his role at NIB. He began his career in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving more than 20 years in infantry, logistics, acquisition and recruiting positions. After retiring from the Marines, he held several positions in private industry before joining NIB in January 2016 as director, business development.
Mr. Katz has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Montclair State University in New Jersey, and a Master of Science in acquisition and contract management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He also holds a Master of Arts in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College, an advanced professional designation in logistics management from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certifications in Contracting (Level III) and Program Management (Level II). He is also a certified Project Management Professional.
