National Network of Agencies

Visit the NIB Associated Agency Bulletin Board.  If you have any questions, please contact communications@nib.org.

NIB associated agencies provide people who are blind with employment and rehabilitative services such as early childhood intervention, adult literacy, low vision examinations and aids, braille literacy, nutritional/health services, occupational/physical therapy, personal and career counseling, recreation, transportation, mobility, daily living skills, employment training, and more.

Our nationwide network of 100 associated nonprofit agencies are the largest providers of employment to Americans who are blind. By harnessing the demand and purchasing power of the federal government, NIB and its associated agencies supply federal markets with a selection of more than 7,000 SKILCRAFT® and other AbilityOne products and a variety of knowledge-based services, all while creating jobs for people who are blind.

Support Our Mission: Partner with an NIB Associated Agency

One of NIB’s most important strategic initiatives is to expand our successful partnerships with small businesses, including diverse suppliers and service-disabled, veteran-owned businesses, and other commercial vendors.

NIB’s associated nonprofit agencies look to small business vendors across the United States as sources of supply and channels of distribution to the federal government customer. These relationships capitalize on the strengths and skills of each organization, resulting in a win-win for the small business, the federal customer and the agency employees who are blind.

Similar to all government contractors, NIB associated agencies meet the same provisions for quality and contract requirements. They offer good wages and fringe benefits, meet Department of Labor and other workplace regulations, and present promotional opportunities. In addition, NIB and associated agencies:

  • Employ more than 5,600 people who are blind each year
  • Pay more than $113 million per year in wages and benefits for full and part-time employees
  • Offer rehabilitative services to more than 128,000 people who are blind nationwide
  • Operate in 151 base supply centers
  • Deliver millions of dollars worth of products and services to federal, state and commercial markets per year
