EAN/UCC 14 Data Structure

A 14-digit data structure composed of an Indicator Digit, Company Prefix, Item Reference, and Check Digit.

EAN/UCC-14 ID Number

14 digits that comprise ID Number for trade items.

EAN/UPC Symbols

Family of bar code symbols including UPC-A and UPC-E versions.

EBS

Electronic Business Suite -- the set of Oracle modules on which we run NIB's transactional business.

EDCS

Electronic Document Conversion Services

EDD

Expanded Direct Delivery; GSA Global Supply Program that allows commercial or nonprofit concern to provide products directly to GGS customers; EDD items are sold by GGS but not stocked in the depots.

EDI

Electronic Data Interchange; Refers to the computer-to-computer transmission of business information using a public standard format.

EDLH

Essentially the Same Direct Labor Hours; a term used in the AbilityOne Program pricing and compliance process to indicate that the direct labor hours proposed for a new or modified contract are substantially similar to those previously approved for a comparable product or service.

A group of people who are blind or have other disabilities who regularly perform work in a separate part or department of an industry while under the management of an AbilityOne associated agency.

End Item

One of the components or parts that attach to a product, such as a Kevlar helmet with the leather headband and chin strap that attach to the helmet.

Environmentally Preferable

Indicates products that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment.

Environmentally Preferable Packaging

Product packaging is made using recycled content, biodegradable materials, or renewable resources.

ETS Database

A database containing the AbilityOne NSNs and corresponding commercial SKUs; password protected and searchable by authorized personnel.

European Union; member states have agreed to integrate economies; members include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

Evaluation and Training Certificates

Time-limited certificates that require commensurate wages for people who are blind or disabled and engaged in identifiable evaluation or training program.
