Individual Equipment Element; BSC on an Air Force base that sells clothing and associated products.

Invitation for Bids

IMP

Impulse Marketing Program; NIB program that provides items to the Defense Commissary Agency for sale in commissaries. Also SourceAmerica's Integrated Marketing Plan.

Impact

An indication that a current vendor would be severely hurt financially if the AbilityOne Program were to take over manufacturing a specific product.

Incorporation by Reference

Application of certain clauses in a contract not physically included other than by reference to the clause number and subject.

Indirect Labor

Any labor hours not falling into the category of Direct Labor.

Individual Certificates

Certificates permitting an agency to pay an employee less than minimum wage when justified by the individual's severity of disability and production rate; may be as low as 25 percent wage with state agency authorization.

Industrial Preparedness

The state of preparedness of industry to produce essential material to support national military objectives.

Inflation Factor

Amount added to an item's base price to cover anticipated changes in cost.

Inner Carton

Shippable cartons packed inside master shipping cartons that contain selling units. These can be taken out of the master shipping carton and reshipped individually for a smaller order quantity.

Inspection Plan

The method to be used in inspecting any lot. A minimal inspection plan includes a definition of the lot unit, sample unit, sample size, and AQL.

Interagency

Coordinated procurement support between government agencies.

Interim FED-SPEC

Potential federal specification issued in interim form for operational use by federal agencies. Interim amendments included in the definition.

Headquartered in Switzerland, an international organization of national standards bodies that produces standards in many fields. ANSI is the United States member. ISO is the name given to a series of quality standards from the International Organization for Standardization.
