
NIB reinforces its commitment to local business leadership and community engagement
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5, 2026—National Industries for the Blind (NIB) announced the renewal of its membership with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber ALX), marking its 15th year as a member. This renewed membership highlights NIB’s ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses while advancing its mission to create employment opportunities for people who are blind.
The Chamber ALX is an advocacy-based nonprofit organization with more than 950 member businesses, dedicated to making Alexandria the ideal place to work, live, and grow a business.
“We are proud to be an anchor in the Alexandria community,” says Soraya Correa, president and CEO of NIB. “Our ongoing engagement with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce allows us to forge meaningful relationships across the local business community and contribute to economic growth and workforce development.”
NIB is an active participant in The Chamber ALX: its staff regularly participates in the nine-month Leadership Alexandria program supporting emerging local leaders, NIB employees have been recognized on The Chamber ALX’s annual 40 Under 40 list, and the company serves as an event sponsor. With its headquarters in Alexandria across from the Potomac Yard Metro station, NIB’s event space is frequently used by The Chamber ALX for meetings, programs, and community gatherings.
