Scott Avery is vice president, finance and accounting, at National Industries for the Blind (NIB), where he provides vision, leadership, and direction for the financial and accounting activities of the organization. Mr. Avery’s oversight includes all day-to-day accounting activities, treasury management, internal and external financial reporting, the annual audit and Form 990 preparation, budgeting and forecasting, and program sales reporting.
Before joining NIB in 2011, Mr. Avery spent more than 20 years leading financial operations at the controllership level at several firms in private industry. His previous experience includes financial accounting and analysis, cost analysis and control, budgeting and strategic planning, cash flow management, tax preparation and compliance, and acquisition analysis and integration, in both manufacturing and service environments.
Mr. Avery holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (double major) and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia.
