Last week, NIB hosted 26 new associated nonprofit agency leaders at NIB headquarters for New Executive Orientation (NEO). NIB hosts NEO each year to provide new members of the executive teams at associated agencies an introduction to NIB senior leadership and other key stakeholders, as well as an overview of how NIB can support their organizations in a variety of areas including compliance, communications, public policy, human resources, operations, business development, and finance.
NEO attendees also learned about working with the U. S. AbilityOne Commission® through presentations from AbilityOne Commission Acting Executive Director Kimberly M. Zeich, and Howard Cooke, interim chief operating officer at SourceAmerica, the central nonprofit agency in the AbilityOne® Program that employs people with significant disabilities. Reinhard Mabry, president of the National Association for the Employment of People Who Are Blind and NIB associated agency Alphapointe, rounded out the roster of NIB partners addressing attendees at the event.
In addition to structured presentations, the NEO event provided an opportunity for new agency leaders to engage with NIB staff and peers from other associated agencies nationwide during breaks, meals, and at an NIB-sponsored reception.
