NIB Board Secretary Jessica Carter Joins Washington’s Most Powerful Women List

Ford Motor Company Executive Honored by Washingtonian

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 30, 2025National Industries for the Blind (NIB) announced today that its Board of Directors Secretary, Jessica Carter, was named one of the 250 Most Powerful Women in Washington by Washingtonian magazine.

The influential list recognizes leaders across federal government, business, media, and other sectors, including senators, Supreme Court justices, and ambassadors.

Carter, who serves as the Head of Federal Government Affairs for Ford Motor Company, was highlighted in the Washingtonian’s October issue as “The top lobbyist for one of the largest automakers in America.” She was selected for the “Lobbying, Advocacy, and Think Tanks” category. The magazine noted Carter’s 26 years on the Hill in various roles, including as chief of staff to four different congressmen, before she joined Ford in 2023.

Carter joined the NIB Board in 2024. She previously served as NIB’s director of public policy from 2009-2010. Carter holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton, and an M.B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University – Carey Business School.
