More than 20 attendees from NIB and its associated nonprofit agencies participated in the 2024 NIB Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Forum held December 11-12 in Tyler, Texas.
Co-hosted by Horizon Industries (a division of East Texas Lighthouse), the 2024 Forum provided the opportunity for NPA staff ranging from plant managers to operations, compliance, and agency leaders to connect in person, receive essential CPI training, and expand their respective process improvement programs.
NIB President and CEO Soraya Correa regretted that she could not attend in person, but shared a recorded video greeting to all forum attendees.
The 2024 forum promoted the theme “Enhancing the Network for Continuous Improvement” and featured 14 unique sessions ranging from supply chain forecasting, a panel evaluating the potential impact of artificial intelligence on manufacturing, deploying CPI tactics organizationally, the latest AbilityOne policy and compliance requirements, ISO, Quality Management System and Enterprise Risk Management, transforming sighted to blind manufacturing jobs, NIB grants, and NSITE employee training, recruiting, and retention. Attendees received a demonstration on QT9 quality management software, as well as CPI training instruction directly from a Master Six Sigma Black Belt. They also toured the robust Horizon Industries manufacturing operations, which employ 63 people, 25 of whom are blind or visually impaired.
NIB continues to expand the CPI toolkit available to support NPAs in improving business processes, reducing waste, minimizing variability and increasing operational efficiencies.
