Since COVID-19 struck the nation, NIB and its associated nonprofit agencies have been working tirelessly to help the country respond. Nearly 4,000 Americans who are blind working at forty NIB associated agencies are producing more than 1,500 different types of COVID-related products. In many cases, these employees are helping to save lives by producing and supplying the front lines with masks, sanitizers, gloves, and other critical products. Our network’s ingenuity and ability to pivot operations positioned us to leverage our collective capabilities and act quickly; such as using call centers to aid in the surge in unemployment claims or altering Army construction kits with components to build emergency field hospitals.
