Cynthia Watson is the president and chief executive officer of Vibrant Works in San Antonio, Texas. Vibrant Works is a large military apparel manufacturing operation with total revenue of $87 million and approximately 500 employees who are blind or vision impaired. Vibrant Works also produces office supplies and diverse items for the aerospace industry.
Prior to joining Vibrant Works, Ms. Watson was senior vice president and chief executive officer of The Lighthouse for the Blind in Seattle, Washington. In this role, she managed an annual budget of $100 million in 17 locations with 500 employees and directed a $65 million manufacturing operation, including office, military defense, and aerospace products, and $34 million in service projects comprising Base Supply Centers and contract closeout services.
Earlier, Ms. Watson held various senior leadership positions at Envision, the American Foundation for the Blind’s Center on Vision Loss and Web Programs, both located in Dallas, Texas, and IFB Solutions in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Ms. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies and a master’s in business administration degree, both from the University of Houston-Clearlake. She has received the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance Executive of the Year Award, among other awards, and has served on several boards.
