Jessica Carter is head of federal government affairs at Ford Motor Company. Leading Ford’s federal team, she is responsible for shaping and developing the legislative and regulatory policies to support Ford’s business. As the automotive industry transitions to a smart world mobility environment through electrification, Ms. Carter and her team advocate for policies that align Ford’s leadership role with emerging transportation technologies. Creating alignment among the Ford government affairs teams at the federal, state, local and international levels, she ensures consistency and common purpose among her team. Ms. Carter regularly engages with key House and Senate leaders and industry groups to enhance automotive and original equipment manufacturers objectives presented by the rapidly changing political and regulatory environment.
With an extensive background on Capitol Hill, Ms. Carter has demonstrated exceptional leadership within the legislative branch as an experienced policy and political strategist. She has served as chief of staff, as well as in senior staff positions, to several elected representatives during her career.
Ms. Carter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master of Business Administration degree in international relations from the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University.
